Personal Development
Here at RSG we believe that learning doesn’t stop inside the classroom, and we are passionate about delivering a broad range of extracurricular activities and opportunities for our students all year round.
Clubs
At our school we are proud to host a broad range of clubs and activities. Whether you’re looking for something academic, sports or arts based, we have something for everyone.
At lunch times, across the school, homework drop-in sessions are run, as well as PE club every day come rain or shine. Bubble Club is a new and popular lunch club, run by our Sixth Form for younger students who want to make new friends.
The Sixth Form also offers a ‘tea and biscuits’ club for older students who want to socialise once a week. Our LGBTQ+ and Diversity club also meets weekly, where everyone is welcome to come along and meet new people.
After school, amongst our academic clubs offered to support learning, you can study in the IRC until 4:30. In addition to this, we have a whole host of other opportunities for our students.
If you’re creative, we offer photography, textiles, art and craft, sculpture, and cooking clubs. If you are interested in sports, we run netball, football, athletics, and general sports clubs after school to name just a few. If you are a performer, we run choir, dance, drama and musical theatre.
We also run several programmes such as The Duke of Edinburgh Award, Sports Leader Award and Student Leader Award. Excitingly, we have a partnership with our local animal sanctuary, Creepy Claws, who visit us every week to teach students about animals and how to care for and protect them.
Student Ambassadors
Did you know we have 10 different student Ambassador groups that help run our school:
- LGBTQ+ Group
- Diversity Group
- Junior Leadership Team
- Sixth form Ambassadors
- Sports Ambassadors
- Anti-bullying Ambassadors
- School Council
- Eco Ambassadors
- ACE Ambassadors
- Teaching and Learning Ambassadors
All of these groups are wonderful role models who run projects throughout the year, promoting each of their groups’ ethos. They listen to student voices, help deliver messages in assembly around their group ethos and lead the school in events such as open events and parents evenings.
Throughout the academic year our Sixth Form students also complete their own enrichment programme. They are required to complete at least twenty hours of enrichment, but many continue their tasks as they are essential to the RSG community.
Many of our Sixth Formers choose to be mentors to younger students and receive specialist training in how to support and direct younger students to the pastoral staff.
Some choose to become subject mentors and support others in their academic studies, in class or during form times.
Our Sixth Formers run a very successful reading programme supporting all year groups with their fluency and comprehension. One of the most visible enrichment groups choose to showcase our Sixth Form on open evenings, parents’ evenings and other special events ensuring that they represent Rainham Sixth as the successful community it is.

Enrichment Days
These are our favourite times of the year, where our students are treated to the fun and excitement of something a little bit different.
Culture Day is a most special and loved day within our school, where we celebrate the cultural diversity we have in our school.
Students enjoy learning about other cultures through art projects, try sports from around the globe and watch or participate in our amazing fashion show. Afrobeats fill the air whilst our students dance at lunch time and everyone is able to try new foods in the canteen from around the globe. The day truly champions celebrating difference, and emphasises our wonderful school community as one big family.
Festival Day is a time when we come to the end of the academic year where we celebrate another brilliant year at RSG.
Festival day is a day of community, where students engage in our festival picnics, watch our incredible talent show, enjoy food and drink stalls from around our local community and try new and exciting activities such as inflatables, old school sports day games and t-shirt making.
The Colour Run is the finale of the day, where students run to raise money for charity- and whilst it’s very messy we absolutely love this annual tradition.
